How prayer times are calculated
Prayer times are calculated from the sun's position for a specific location and date. The calculation method, Asr madhab, latitude, longitude and timezone all affect the final timetable, so families should follow the method recommended by their local mosque or Islamic authority.
Equantu shows these times as a helpful Islamic lifestyle utility. Local mosque timetables and official national calendars may use local adjustments, so they should remain the final reference for congregational prayer.
Fajr
Fajr begins before sunrise and marks the first obligatory prayer of the day.
Dhuhr
Dhuhr is the midday prayer after the sun has passed its highest point.
Asr
Asr is the afternoon prayer. Its start time differs by juristic method, commonly Shafi or Hanafi.
Maghrib and Isha
Maghrib begins after sunset, while Isha is the night prayer after twilight has disappeared.

What are prayer times?
Prayer times are daily salah time windows calculated from the sun's position for a specific city or coordinate. This page shows Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha.
Why do prayer times differ between cities?
They differ because location, date, timezone, calculation method and Asr juristic setting affect the sun-based calculations.
Which calculation method should I choose?
Use the method recommended by your local mosque, Islamic authority or community. The dropdown includes common methods returned by the Equantu Azan API.
Can I print or download a timetable?
Yes. Use the print or CSV controls beside the monthly timetable. You can also download today's prayers as an ICS calendar file.
Does the Prayer Times page show Qibla direction?
Yes. The tool shows a Qibla direction estimate for the selected location when coordinate data is available.
Can Zikr Rings help with prayer reminder habits?
Equantu Zikr Rings are separate wearable dhikr products. Selected models may support reminder or habit features depending on the model, but official prayer schedules should still follow local mosque or authority guidance.
